The Memorials
 
"In memory of Mary wife of James Blakeley (for 29 years Deputy Clerk of this church) who died November 5th 1903. Aged 63 years. As a token to James Blakeley from the Vicar Jan. 1904"
"This chapel was dedicated to the glory of God in memory of Dorothy McCartney. Died 4th January 1984. Deo Gratias." This plaque is now located near the font. The chapel it mentions was roughly where the new, main entrance to the church was created in the 1990s.  Memorial to Corporal Arthur Needham, killed at the Battle of the Somme, Aged 35 and Private Leonard Needham, killed to the Battle of Loos, Aged 31 - only sons of Richard and Harriet Needham   Plaque by the font: Commemorates the foundation of the branch of the Childrens' Union in 1905 by Miss H Hassall, who was headmistress of St Paul's School and who continued her interest until her death in 1987.
Plaque by the font marks the removal of the font to its present site and is in memory of Charles Wood Church North: Plaque commemorating the laying of the foundation stone of the church in 1838 Lounge: "In memory of Richard Kirk M.C. Cheshire Regiment. Killed in action at St. Pierre Divion, France November 13th 1916, aged 31 years." For further details, click here
Lounge: "In affectionate memory of
John Meadows for more than sixteen years clerk and sexton of this church. Died August 8th 1874 aged 58 years. "O Lord in thee have I trusted" This tablet was erected by members of the congregation and friends."
Plaque north transept:"Sacred to the memory of James Wilkinson, Esq. of Brookfield House who died on the 3rd of July 1857 aged 67 years. He took a zealous and active part in the establishment and endowment of this church and schools and other buildings and other buildings connected therewith."
Plaque now in storage area in North Transept. "In memory of the Rev. Edward Mortimer Baker, MA of Belgrave Place, Mottram Road, Stalybridge. Beloved husband of Alice Baker, who died January 13, 1923 in his 67th year. For 22 years a faithful minister of Christ in this Parish.

North transept: Memorial to William Worth Hoare, first vicar of St Paul's Lounge: Memorial to Robert Smith, schoolmaster Sanctuary beneath south window: "To the Glory of God and in affectionate memory of Robert Platt one of the founders of this church and one of the first patrons of this benefice entered into rest June 13th 1882 aged 79 years".

Sanctuary: Lord's Prayer. At one time the Lord's Prayer and Ten Commandments had to be displayed in the sanctuary as required by Canon Law. Below windows on north wall of the sanctuay: "To the Glory of God and for the adornment of his house the East Window was placed in this church by James Buckley of Foxhill, Stayley, AD 1857."
Beneath windows in the Lounge: In memory of John and Elizabeth Bates.
South transept, east wall: "In memory of a beloved husband, these windows were placed here by Christiana widow of James Adshead of Acres Bank, Esq. AD 1860."
South transept: Plaque in memory of Richard Needham and his wife Harriet Thackeray South transept: Plaque in memory of Lt Col. Sidebottom Church south wall: "These windows first placed here to the glory of God and afterwards dedicated to the memory of Eliza Jane the wife of Ralph Bates; she died April 7th 1883 aged 39 yaers" Tower porch: Plaque in memory of William Hague and his wife Sarah.
War memorial corner: Memorial to William Pilsworth. Lounge: "This tablet was erected by the Superintendents, Teachers and Scholars of St Paul's Sunday School, Stayley in affectionate remembrance of Richard Holgate Brown MA, Rural Dean of Stockport, Honorary Canon of Chester and for seven years Vicar of this Church. He was a faithful minister of Christ and a kind, liberal and sympathetic friend. Born Nov. 13th 1831, died Aug. 16th 1887. "The memory of the just is blessed"."
